Charming old and clean place with smart staff on the reception desk. Magnificent location in Melbourne CBD district just next door to the Entertainment Centre, Southern Cross Station, and public transport, cleanliness of rooms and updated bathroom and restaurants and the railway station. Efficient check in and late check out. Easy parking on-site.

hotel is well located, about 10 minutes walk from the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre and 5 minutes walk from the Southern Cross Station. It is also close to a (free) tram which leaves you close to many interesting places to visit. hotel's restaurant has good prices and breakfast was very good. train station and other parts of the city have free Wi-Fi points. On one side of the hotel there is a small shop where they sell pizza and on the other side there is a bureau de change. room had TV, air conditioning, hair dryer, electric kettle and a fridge. Some sockets have a USB port very useful for charging the phone. From the room I had a nice view of an old building.
The television, although I didn't go to see television, but in general poor programming.

Location
Your day staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. We arrived to check in mid morning and were told the room would not be ready until 2pm, which would have been fine if your front desk staff, namely Lauren, did not treat our presence as an utter inconvenience. Upon checkout another staff member was most rude when we asked for help regarding public transport.

Location
bathroom filthy, hot water tap leked when turned on, nearly scolded me as water spurted out from tap, also tap became very hot. Aircon leaked over entrance to unit, making tiles wet & slippery, walking water into room. Advised reception on leaving of above and completed feedback card.

perfect stay for city walks and nearby parks
the staff were friendly and the location was ideal for exploring the city, as it was just a short walk to the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, and I loved being able to stroll along Collins Street to enjoy the local shops and cafes.

Location, without a doubt, is super comfortable to get from the airport with the Sky Bus, an option we chose because we have little time to tour the city. It is also very convenient to go out for a walk along the waterfront and to take the tramlines around the city. room, if it is not too big, is very well used, it is comfortable and pleasant in a small space. Although it does not have breakfast, there is a street nearby with several coffee options. paid wifi can be a bit inconvenient if you don't want to pay, in some areas of the city they have free wi fi, (it's not so common to find it in bars or restaurants instead). I asked about the luggage possession after the check out and they confirmed that from this year 2018 they don't charge it anymore, we use the luggage storage service. It has a very comfortable bathroom if you plan to take a shower before traveling, after having checked out.
I wouldn't say that I didn't like it, but I think it's worth mentioning that the attention of the reception is "adequate", there's nothing gentle or kind about it.

Recommended for groups needing a quick stay
The staff were really helpful and cheery, even with our late check-in. The room, though small, was very comfy and tidy with tea/coffee making facilities, way better than I expected after six weeks on the road.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but for what we paid, it was still decent.

Price and location
I can see that it is in the process of being renovated..I loved my room it had everything I needed. It felt like home away from home. The only negative factor was that the walls were extremely marked and dirty but then I understand this may be why I could get accomodation in a great location for a very good price. I would be happy to stay again if I got a similar room.

The hotel was ideally located minute walk from an interactive multilevel aquarium. The staff was smart and excellent co-operating, always with a smile on face. Had newly renovated family room with a nice bathroom, both very clean and TV.

We stayed in a budget room which was described as overlooking a courtyard in fact it was like a jail.Really depressing. No natural light. The bathroom was not clean.Cracked tiles.Rusty corners in shower.A Used shower cap was left on a shelf in bathroom.NOT NICE.the only advantage it had was proximity to Southern Cross Station
